3 Concepts For Overcoming Fitness Obstacles
If you’re like me, the quest to be in form and manage weight feels overwhelming. And, as though the quest to become fit isn’t hard enough, there are often other obstacles to overcome: health issues, time administration, mustering up energy or courage.

Even if you’ve been exercising for a long time, there’s always fresh barriers to be broken. So, how to put all this into perspective?

According to Tom Turner, executive liaison meant for the Spina Bifida Association that’s exactly it: Perspective. And in addition, relating to him, there’s no mountain too high to climb. Tom would know.

Paralyzed from the waist down since birth this individual’s right now 35 and trains around three times a week. In fact, he tells me, he just couldn’t go along without exercise every day and said again it's was the life routines.

“Train your brain to believe no mountain is too much or any goal is too difficult to attain,” Tom informs me. Basically, it’s about meeting your fears and facing them head-on.

In this principle, try to identify your fears, acknowledge them and undertake them then. Ask yourself what is it that makes you feel more uncomfortable? Have you let yourself get out of shape and are afraid you’ll never get it back?

Do you have an injury that’s triggered you to be afraid of your body? When you can visualize creatively, then you can put your fears in check. See your self as you’d prefer to be.

Remember: your body enjoys you and gets the potential to heal itself to perfection. Your only job is to trust it and pay attention.

Principle #2 Trust Your Intuition.


It is necessary when overcoming obstacles and understanding how to break through barriers that you start to listen to the still small tone of voice of the body. In most instances, most of us want the comfort and ease of having someone telling us what we can and cannot do.

However, our highest truth lies within us. This is not to state that the nice opinion of others isn't important, but ultimately the decision making originates from within.

When facing a challenge or an obstacle look to how you feel or what you think when that happens. What exactly are your instincts telling you? Often it is just your instinct that may move you right into a new mindset and raise your consciousness. “I wasn’t about to allow wheelchair stand in my way,” Tom informs me.

In fact, he says he previously to change his perspective about any of it merely. He says he initially had to learn in what his restrictions were after that, create a boundary for himself.

“Most of us have boundaries,” I am told by him. "Regardless if a person can walk or not, obstacles are something was unique as people themselves. Therefore, it’s first better to know your boundaries."

It appears appropriate here. The bottom line: Staying afraid frequently keeps us from truly living. Tom reminds me a positive attitude is key, "Lifestyle is focused on attitude." He says he could let fear beat him down also, however he doesn’t. “I wouldn’t desire to miss being component of tomorrow,” he concludes.

To conclude Life Beyond The Boundaries.


When you’ve faced your fears and pushed your boundaries to the edges, what then and think again? I needed to know. Tom smiles.

“Find a new mountain or something to climb,” he says matter-of-factly. “It’s what makes life fun. I know I have factors. I know that you will have days that I’ll have to stay static in bed and rest while my braces are receiving tuned up. It’s those times when I am with my thoughts that I decide what will I am going to set on my sights on.”
